Blockchain Confirmations and Deposit Times Explained
Learn what blockchain confirmations are, why deposit times vary, how to track a transaction and what to check when a GroveX deposit is still pending.
What is a blockchain confirmation?
When a cryptocurrency transaction is broadcast, it must be accepted and recorded by the relevant blockchain network.
A confirmation generally means the transaction has been included in a confirmed block.
As more blocks are added after that block, the transaction gains additional confirmations.
Why exchanges wait for confirmations
GroveX can require a certain level of network confirmation before a deposit becomes available.
This helps reduce the risk that a transaction is reorganized or otherwise not finalized as expected.
Confirmation requirements can differ between assets and networks.
Why deposit times vary
A deposit is not controlled by a single timer.
Timing can be affected by:
- how quickly the sending wallet broadcasts the transaction;
- the transaction fee selected by the sender;
- blockchain congestion;
- block production speed;
- confirmation requirements for the selected asset;
- wallet or network maintenance;
- additional account or deposit review where required.
Find your TXID
The transaction hash or TXID is the most useful identifier when tracking a blockchain transfer.
Your sending wallet or exchange should provide it after the transaction is broadcast.
Copy the TXID and search it on an appropriate block explorer for the network you used.
What to check on the block explorer
Confirm:
- transaction status;
- destination address;
- transferred amount;
- network;
- block number;
- number of confirmations where shown.
If the transaction is not visible on the blockchain, it may not have been broadcast successfully by the sending service.
Correct network matters
A transaction can be confirmed on-chain and still fail to credit normally if it was sent using an unsupported or incorrect network.
For example, tokens with the same symbol can exist on several networks.
Always select the network shown on the GroveX deposit page and make sure the sending platform uses the same network.

Memo and tag requirements
Some assets require both a deposit address and an additional memo, tag or destination identifier.
If GroveX displays one, it must be included exactly as shown.
A missing or incorrect memo can prevent automatic crediting even when the blockchain transfer itself is confirmed.
When to contact Support
If the transaction has sufficient confirmations but the deposit is still missing, gather:
- GroveX UID;
- registered email;
- asset;
- amount;
- exact network;
- TXID;
- sending address;
- GroveX deposit address;
- memo or tag if applicable;
- approximate transfer time;
- screenshots if useful.
